SCOUT REVIEW
Monaile Madarao is not as luxurious and fancy compared to its sister hotel, Madarao Kogen Hotel, but it will appeal to skiers that want spacious rooms and bathrooms.
The hotel has 40 rooms that are huge by Japanese standards. The Western Twin Room has two beds, two sofa beds and a bathroom; this room can accommodate up to four people. Its Combination Room has two large beds, a separate living area with a small tatami and a big bathroom; this room can accommodate up to five. The rooms are equipped with basic modern amenities including a mini-fridge and kettle. Currently there is no wi-fi access in the rooms however you can surf the web in the public areas in the hotel.
The hotel has its own buffet restaurant serving Japanese, Chinese and Western dishes for breakfast and dinner. The hotel has an on-site convenient store that sells snacks, beverages, souvenirs and beer. There’s a coin-operated laundry machine which is great for those staying longer. It has an indoor onsen which has a high salt content so it is very good for your skin. You can also access the facilities of Madarao Kogen anytime. Although the hotel has a ski storage area, it does not have a drying room.
If you can look past the stains on the carpet, Monaile Madarao Hotel is good value for money especially when traveling with friends or the family, on a budget.
