Scout loves
- The funky, modern vibe.
- There is a kids room full of toys, books, games, a Nintendo Wii and other activities.
- This is an apartment complex but with hotel facilities such as an onsen, an elevator and a drying room, as well as receptionists who speak English.
- Rooms include Apple TVs – providing access to movies, news and the internet.
- Guests have access to a common laundry with detergent.
- Pajamas are provided!
Scout tips
- All the beds are twins – there are no king size beds.
- The top floor studios have the best views, with a village outlook. The rest of the rooms look onto the street or other buildings.
- If you plan to do some cooking you’ll want to arrange a lift to the grocery store since there aren’t many supplies downtown.
- You don’t get much storage space with the smaller rooms. If you have a lot of gear to store, get a higher category of room.
SCOUT REVIEW
Ski vacations in foreign countries are terrific, but sometimes after an epic day on the slopes all you want to do is retreat to a place that feels just like home. Although it might seem odd to travel across the world only to stay in a place that reminds you of home, it’s the little things that make it possible to truly relax. Don’t worry, we get it!
If this sounds like your style of holiday, Address Nozawa is the perfect place to stay. Featuring a laundry room, kids room, good coffee, TV with English language channels, Wi-Fi in your room and your own kitchen with milk in the fridge, this place has everything you need. Oh, and let’s not forget – the beds are incredibly comfy – a must for skiers!
The beauty of this place is that you can have all your creature comforts, but in an authentic village such as Nozawa Onsen. Address Nozawa is located right in the heart of this authentic Japanese Village, and only a short walk from the slopes. So you can enjoy all the excitement that comes from visiting a different country, but then come back to sleep in a place that feels familiar and is comfortable.
Address Nozawa consists of just 13 serviced apartments, ranging from standard studios (with a kitchen) through to the ‘Grand Suite’ that, at 82msq, can sleep up to six people.
The furnishings are modern and simple, and there’s a vibrant, generous use of colour throughout. (Not surprisingly, the design concept for the hotel was all about colour). There are Japanese influences here and there, and some rooms have tatami mats. It all adds up to a style that’s kind of a cross between Scandinavian and Japanese.
All rooms at Address Nozawa have a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, rice cooker and Nespresso machine. Breakfast supplies (including yummy Japanese bread, jam, butter, milk and coffee) are replenished daily – which is a nice touch.
Our only real gripe is that the kitchen and dining area takes up space that could have been used to create a comfortable living space. Since Nozawa Onsen has so many great (and fairly cheap) restaurants all within a few steps of the hotel – you probably won’t be eating in very much anyway.
That said, there is so much that Address Nozawa does offer that it’s a definite ‘tick’ in our books.
Who should stay here
Address Nozawa is perfect for families or groups of friends who want their Western-style comforts in a serviced apartment, all within the heart of Nozawa Onsen.
Scout Customer Reviews
We really liked the place. The location can’t really be better, and the staff was extremely helpful. Language was a little bit of a challenge, but that was expected. There was so much space. When you are skiing, it is so nice just let all your s**t explode all over the room and that was great. I guess the only disappointment was that the place had absolutely no view and was a bit generic, though as I said that suited our purposes… If it had a view, or even windows onto the town(I think some do actually) it would have been 100% perfect. All the bars and restaurants were right out the front door – that was very nice. Onsen was ok – though we only used them once or twice…. Personally I much rather be outside in a hot tub…In short, for a boys, or even family ski trip it is perfect. - Mark, Scout customer 2018
Location
Located right in the heart of Nozawa Onsen village, this property is about a 6 minute walk up the hill to the moving walkway (for the Hikage base) or a 10 minute walk up the hill to the Nagasaka resort base. There are places to store your equipment at either base area if you don’t want to lug it up and down each day (advised!). It is steps from the main street of Nozawa Onsen Village.
You can find a map of Nozawa here. Address Nozawa is located in E5. The main street of the village is O-yu Steet running diagonally across the map.
