Scout tips
- The Village at Breckenridge is comprised of a series of dated 1980s-era buildings – people stay here for the location and the price, not the décor.
- Condos are individually owned, so the décor and taste in furnishings can vary significantly.
- The Village Hotel is part of the same complex.
- Apartments come in Bronze, Silver, & Gold. Request a Gold when making a booking as this means it has been recently refurbished.
- Studios are nice & bright, perfect for couples.
SCOUT REVIEW
The Village at Breckenridge is the best located hotel in Breckenridge. Need quick access to the ski lifts in the mornings? Check. Need to be close to the ski school, ski rental shops and ticket offices? Check. Want to be close to restaurants and bars? Check. Want to be close to the town? Check, check, check.
With so much going for it, it’s a pity that The Village has the all architectural ambience of Soviet-era East Berlin. The result of a building boom that occurred during the 1980s (apparently Summit Country had ambitions to host the Winter Olympics), this accommodation complex does unfortunately feature low ceilings, rooms on the smaller side and visually uninspiring outer façades. However, many of the interiors have been updated which means that furnishings and appliances are more up-to-date and therefore more appealing.
Guests can choose from a range of Standard and Premium apartments, from compact studios to 4 bedroom options catering to the larger families. Premium rooms are those with wooden floors, updated decor, and newer furniture. The apartments also range in levels - Bronze, Silver, & Gold - so there is definitely an option to suit any budget & preference. There are some condos with washer and dryers, but there is also an easily accessible guest laundry in each building.
Skiing, shopping, drinking and eating will be right at your front door – the location is just about perfect. There is a great pub on site, with a variety of homemade barrel-aged cocktails.
Furthermore, the facilities (including spas, pools, fitness centers and parking) are just as good as every other property owned by Vail resorts, so there’s no compromise there. The Village is definitely is a great-value Breckenridge hotel option for families who are travelling on a mid-range budget. Plus if you’re lucky enough to get one of the higher apartments, the views are some of the best on offer in Breckenridge.

The Village at Breckenridge would be the perfect choice for unfussy families who are on a budget and who need to be near everything.
