SCOUT REVIEW
There’s a reason why so many people around the world love their Starbucks coffee – a Double Shot Grande Caramel Latte tastes the same regardless of whether you’re in Chicago or Queenstown – so you always know what you’re going to get. The same principle can be applied to hotel chains – you know you can always expect the same level of service and comfort wherever you go, which is a nice thing to be able to rely on in the often unpredictable world of travel.
With this in mind, we're glad the Viewline Resort in Snowmass upholds the quality standard we’ve come to expect from the Autograph Collection brand. For those who’ve never had the pleasure, this means luxurious beds, deluxe bathrooms, fantastic amenities, and unbeatable service that one can expect from a luxurious ski stay. Viewline Resort Snowmass opened after a multi-million dollar makeover of the previous property, the Westin Snowmass. The place was completely gutted, leaving not a trace of the old hotel. The only thing that remained the same was its excellent slope-side location, which means that getting on your skis in the morning is as easy as taking five steps out the door.
The rooms at Viewline Resort are wonderfully designed - spacious and light filled, and modern mountain decor with plenty of earthy tones, they are truly quite idyllic. You can even feel a slight 1960's-inspired retro flair throughout. The entry-level Classic and Premium Rooms are ideal for a shorter stay, offering a serene escape after a day on the slopes. Some rooms overlook the village area (or other buildings) so we'd recommend paying a little more for the Premium option to enjoy those slopeside views each morning. For those wanting a bit more space to spread out (or for a family of 3), the suites offer apartment-style stays with seperate master bedroom. Plus, for the ultimate ski-in ski-out experience, choose a Mountain Front Suite, which allows slopeside access directly from your terrace on the ground level - you honestly couldn't get any better than this! All rooms feature deluxe furnishings, a mini fridge, and a spa-inspired bathroom with signature amenities. Scout loves the larger penthouse suites, with their floor-to-ceiling windows (and views to match!), residential style kitchen and living spaces - a true Rocky Mountain luxury escape.
Take advantage of the on-site Stark's Alpine Grill for contemporary American cuisine and a great breakfast menu - be sure to enjoy at least one long brunch at the Viewline. Or sign off on another fantastic powder day with après at the lobby bar, cocktail in hand overlooking the slopes. Viewline is situated close to the Snowmass Mall, and the Snowmass Village is a short ride down the Sky Cab gondola, which should satisfy those looking for a greater variety of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Guests can also take some time off from the slopes and hit the Lupine Spa for a treatment, the fitness centre or pool.
And if you feel like venturing a little further afield, Aspen’s RFTA (Roaring Fork Transportation Authority) shuttle bus leaves conveniently from just near the front doors of the hotel, so the three other mountains and Aspen village are only ever a short bus ride away. The hotel also provides complimentary airport transfers to/from Aspen Airport, and local transfers to nearby Buttermilk.
The Viewline Resort Snowmass is still relatively new on the Snowmass scene, but guests can head into their ski vacation with confidence knowing they'll receive fantastic hospitality and a luxurious slopeside stay in the heart of Aspen Snowmass.
Who should stay here
Viewline Resort Snowmass would be suited to families and couples who are seeking the creature comforts of a luxury ski hotel with easy access to the Snowmass slopes.
Location
The hotel is located right on the slopes of Snowmass, above the Snowmass Mall. It’s also a very short distance from the Sky Cab Gondola, which transports skiers to the Snowmass village and resort base area, so you're super close to the restaurants, cafes and bars.

About Aspen Snowmass
Nestled deep in the heart of the Rockies, Aspen is the jewel in the crown of Colorado skiing with four big mountains for skiers to choose from. The resort is best known for its glitz and glamour, and while that’s true, there’s certainly a part of the town’s personality that is down-to-earth and relaxed. This is probably the result of its mining heritage combined with a resort offering some of the country’s best ski terrain and fabulous powder. Whether you're a family looking for your next memorable ski vacation, and avid powderhound, or a hopeless romantic in search of a classic ski-to-après experience, Aspen ticks all the boxes for everyone - there's a reason Scout always goes back to Aspen to ski!
