SCOUT REVIEW
Steamboat is not exactly suffering a shortage of condo complexes, but not many can compete with the ski-in ski-out convenience of Torian Plum (within this price range). The quality of these condos is similar to what you’ll get in other parts of Steamboat – what you’re paying for is the location.
By the way, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the name ‘Torian Plum’ is a strange choice for a ski hotel. It’s a nod to the name of the site’s previous tenant – a guy named Stu Robinson, who ran a gourmet restaurant and art gallery named ‘Torian’s Plum’ – which was situated in an old wooden building when the ski area was just in its infancy. These days, the two buildings that now make up Torian Plum still house some pretty great restaurants, bars and shops, as well as the very family friendly condos above.
These ski condos are split between two buildings – ‘Creekside’ and ‘Plaza’ – and are priced differently due to the slight variances in quality. (For example: a three bedroom in the Plaza building will cost the same as a two bedroom in the Creekside building). This is because the Plaza building is older (it was built in the 80s), so the condos are all a little small and outdated. Plus, the building’s elevator can only be accessed via an outdoor corridor. The Creekside building, on the other hand, is more modern, and features larger condos with better views of the slopes. Creekside condos all have more modern finishes and kitchen appliances, and they’re also a little bit closer to the slopes.
Scout can book individual condos at Torian Plum based on your bedding, view and decor preferences.
Regardless of which building you choose, they’re both close to the snow and to a multitude of restaurants and bars. Best of all, the resort’s most happening après spot, ‘Slopeside’, is located within stumbling distance of both buildings. Plus, in the plaza beneath the condos, Los Locos and Café Diva provide two excellent choices for dinner, while Paramount does the best breakfast in the village (and has great coffee too).
Torian Plum is a tried and tested family favourite in Steamboat, and with its slopeside location, huge range of condo offerings and great amenities, we can see why.
Who should stay here
Torian Plum Condominiums would suit those who want a self-service ski vacation in a fantastic ski-in ski-out location and not far from restaurants, bars and shops.
Location
The property is located on the edge of the ski area base, just 30 steps from the ski locker room to the snow (across a pedestrian-friendly, snow-melt plaza). The gondola base is a little further along. All the restaurants and bars of the village area are an easy walk away. Downtown Steamboat is a 10 minute shuttle bus ride away.

About Steamboat
Steamboat Ski Resort is located in northwestern Colorado about a 4-hour drive from Denver. Don’t let the more isolated location turn you off – it works in its favor since it creates a town with a unique character, away from the weekend hoards that flock to resorts closer to Denver. And with endless intermediate terrain, tons of extra activities, and a fantastic après scene, Steamboat makes a great choice.
