SCOUT REVIEW
Enjoying a fantastic location in Upper Hirafu, the Setsumon is a modern apartment complex that is run by NISADE (the same group as The Vale). Although they are a few years old, the apartments feel brand new thanks to the simple yet stylish furnishings, and the modern appliances.
Because it’s in the lower part of Upper Hirafu, everything you need will be at your doorstep – from the lifts and shuttle buses, to the restaurants, bars and shops.
The Setsumon features a mix of studios in addition to the one, two and three bedroom apartments – plus two penthouses featuring spectacular views of the ski slopes at night. On the lower village side, the ‘Yotei Premier’ provide such spectacular views that on a clear day you can see Mount Yōtei. Meanwhile, the remainder of the studios and the ‘Alpine Deluxe’ one and two bedroom apartments feature neighborhood views.
The apartments have all the modern amenities you need, such as free Wi-Fi, flat screen TVs, DVD players and iPod docks. You can borrow DVDs, games and an Xbox console from reception. Ski storage and drying lockers are located on each floor.
Finally, if you’re a hot tub lover, you can either use the beautiful onsen at The Vale (just down the road) or even better – rent one of the apartments with its own private Jacuzzi on the balcony!
Who should stay here
The Setsumon is great for groups of friends or families wanting a convenient, modern apartment with the added bonus of being able to use the facilities at The Vale (which is just down the road).
Location
The Setsumon is located on the street that leads up to the Hirafu Welcome Centre and Ace pair lift – it takes about 2 minutes to walk there from the hotel. All of Hirafu’s restaurants, bars and shops are right on your doorstep too.
