SCOUT REVIEW
The Hotel Alyeska is Alaska’s premier ski resort hotel and the heart of Alyeska Resort, set among towering peaks, old-growth forests, and the dramatic Turnagain Arm coastline. Blending upscale comfort with rugged mountain charm, this grand lodge offers a warm welcome after a day on the slopes or exploring the backcountry.
The lobby sets the tone with its soaring ceilings, stone fireplaces, and large windows framing snow-covered spruce trees. Rooms range from cozy doubles to spacious suites, many featuring updated mountain-modern décor and views of either the slopes or the surrounding glaciers. The resort’s amenities are impressive: a large saltwater pool and hot tub with mountain vistas, a fitness center, a Nordic spa, and several dining options that highlight Alaskan flavors and fresh seafood.
Skiers and snowboarders love The Hotel Alyeska for its unbeatable convenience. The hotel sits right at the base of the mountain, with direct ski-in ski-out access to the Alyeska Resort lifts. You can literally step out, click in, and be on the slopes within minutes. With over 1,600 acres of skiable terrain and Alaska’s longest continuous double black diamond run, this resort caters to everyone from beginners to expert powder hounds.
Off the slopes, the Alyeska Aerial Tram—departing just outside the lobby—offers spectacular views of Turnagain Arm and the Chugach Mountains. Après-ski can be as relaxed or refined as you like, from enjoying a drink at the Aurora Bar to dining at the award-winning Seven Glaciers Restaurant perched atop the mountain.
