SCOUT REVIEW
Say hello to Hakuba's newest onsen hotel - The Happo. Located only 200m from the slopes of Happo One, The Happo boasts modern and comfortable rooms and suites for those seeking a little more comfort in Hakuba.
The Happo has been designed to maximise convenience and comfort for all aspects of your next ski vacation. Whether it is the flexible bedding and spacious suites, the room service and remote check-in, deluxe onsen and Finnish sauna, or luxurious French-style ski lockers (with boot warmers), The Happo makes every moment of your stay as easy (and welcoming) as possible. The hotel rooms at The Happo range from double and twin options for couples and solo skiers, to larger family suites, sleeping up to 4 people. The decor and furnishings vary between room types, but are modern and stylish - and with an eclectic mix of Japanese and Western styling (think bamboo panelling, purple walls with skier motifs, brightly coloured furniture). All rooms feature a walk-in shower (are rarity in Japan), with the larger units boasting an additional bathtub (ideal for kids). Scout loves the bunk bed configuration in some of the rooms, which smaller families of 4 will enjoy. The largest of the rooms, the Happo Suite, is ideal for couples or those staying a little longer, offering spacious living and bedroom areas.
From arrival, everything is taken care of at The Happo. Pick up your pre-booked ski rentals at Rhythm (or purchase that forgotten item at the Summit store), complete remote room check-in (fast and efficient), book some room service and relax a little before heading out to explore the town. Start your next morning with a great coffee and Australian breakfast, before talking a stroll to the chairlift only 200m away (or jump on the resort shuttle). After an amazing day on the slopes, enjoy a long soak in the onsen (or Finnish sauna) before tucking into a hearty italian meal at Gio's or an exquisite omakase menu at Sushi Sakai (conveniently located at The Happo). Perfect day in Hakuba - tick!
The Happo is one of the best located new ski hotels in Hakuba, and a top choice for those seeking comfort, convenience and easy access to the slopes at Happo One.
