- These apartments enjoy a quiet location on the edge of Lower Hirafu. However they are still within walking distance of all Hirafu’s restaurants and bars, as well as the shuttle bus stop.
- Some of the apartments have amazing views looking out over forests and buildings towards Mount Yōtei.
SCOUT REVIEW
The Freshwater is a great option if you’re seeking a good self-contained apartment, but don’t need a lot of facilities.
Located in the top part of Lower Hirafu, its location on a map can be deceiving. While The Freshwater is situated right on the edge of the village, everything in Hirafu is actually very close.
The apartments are fitted out with modern appliances and furnishings that are done in an oriental style. The studios have a small kitchenette (inside a cupboard) that includes a convection microwave. The rest of the apartments are a decent size and feature large kitchens and living areas complete with fireplaces for some extra coziness.
Thanks to its location on the edge of the village, many of the apartments have lovely views of forests. If you’re lucky enough, some of the two bedroom apartments as well as the penthouse can see all the way to Mount Yōtei.
Since The Freshwater is part of the NISADE group, the apartments are efficiently run by helpful staff that will happily make recommendations and reservations for you. They also run morning and evening shuttles to the ski lifts (you must pre-book the shuttle the evening prior), as well as arrival and departure shuttles.
Who should stay here
The Freshwater is perfect for those who want a self-catered apartment that’s close to, but not on top of, all the action in Hirafu and Niseko Ski Resort.
Location
The Freshwater is located just off the main street running through Hirafu, and is in the Lower Hirafu section. It is within a very easy walking distance of all of the Lower Hirafu restaurants and bars, as well as those in Upper Hirafu. The public village shuttle and shuttle busses to the other resorts leave from stops nearby. It is a 7-minute walk along a flat stretch to the Family Ace Chair Lift.
You can find a map of Niseko village here.
- <10 min walk to lifts
