SCOUT REVIEW
From the moment you step foot in the lobby area, The Squaw Valley Lodge will make you feel welcome – an experience consistent with the general atmosphere of friendliness that characterises Squaw Valley.
And just like the staff, the rooms and condos are unpretentious and welcoming. They’re all situated within seven buildings that are clustered around the main lobby area, and they’re generously sized and nicely appointed. There’s nothing too over the top, but then again, that’s just right for this ski town where the mountain is the main focus. The Deluxe studio rooms are ideal for couples and solo travellers, with a queen bed, spacious living area and a small kitchenette for basic meal prep. It can sleep up to four guests, however, it can feel a little tight. For something slightly bigger, the condos range from studios (plus lofted studios) to three bedrooms in size, and offer flexible bedding options for families and groups. The lofted studios are the perfect choice for small families, and both the two and three bedroom suites offer the option of twin and/or bunk beds, which are idea for a larger family ski vacation. The suites and smaller condos (studios) only offer a kitchenette, whereas the larger condos boast a full kitchen with oven and a washer and dryer for convenience. Premium condos are also available, which boast updated furnishings and more modern appliances.
Whether you’re staying for a weekend or a week, Squaw Valley Lodge has all the right amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable. And if you’re lucky enough to get a room on a top floor, you’ll get to enjoy the wonderful vaulted ceilings. The lodge offers great on-site facilities including 6 hot tubs (3 indoor and 3 outdoor), health club and fitness centre, ski tuning, and undercover parking. Enjoy complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby each morning, and there is ping pong and board games to keep the kids entertained.
The lodge’s location is simply fantastic – it’s right next to the Aerial Tram (which provides access to all the beginner’s terrain), and it’s the original ski-in ski-out property in Squaw Valley. It’s also an easy walk to all the village’s restaurants, shops, and bars. Most importantly, it’s about as close as you can possibly get to the local après favorite, Le Chamois.
Squaw Valley Lodge is a perfect lodging option for a ski vacation in Squaw Valley, offering ski-in ski-out access to the slopes, great self-contained condos for families, and friendly mountain vibes.

About Palisades Tahoe
Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows) is a mammoth ski resort area, with almost 4000 acres of terrain - and not just any terrain, some of the best in North America. Ask any Tahoe local where the best extreme skiing is and they’ll answer Palisades. On any powder day the die-hards flock to KT-22 – sometimes it’s more fun just watching them hucking off terrifying cliffs than skiing yourself. That said, this resort has more than enough intermediate and beginner terrain to keep everyone grinning ear to ear, and boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the whole of the USA. Team this up with dramatic alpine scenery and some of the most progressive terrain, spread across 14 popular mountain zones, Palisades Tahoe is right up there as one of our go-to ski destinations in the USA.
