SCOUT REVIEW
Shochikubai is a spacious, modern three-bedroom house that is perfect for a family group or several couples staying in Furano. Located in the quite neighborhood area called Shimo-goryo it’s a short drive, or about a 10-15 minute walk to the ski slopes and Kitanomine village.
The living areas are spacious and feature modern Japanese décor - one section is on a Japanese Tatami Mat area and the designer kitchen is fully equipped.
In the three bedrooms, you’ll find one with a double bed and two with twins which works well for families and groups of friends. There is one bathroom plus extra toilets. There’s also a laundry with washer and dryer, much needed after week of skiing!
Shochikubai (also spelt Sho-Chiku-Bai) is a little separate from the Kitanomine village area and resort base so guests may want to take use of the heated garage and have their own vehicle for getting to and from the slopes, restaurants and grocery store. However, it is possible to walk – taking about 10-15 minutes.
Who should stay here
Shochikubai is perfect for families or larger groups wanting self contained, modern and stylish accommodation in Furano with plenty of space to spread out.
Location
Shochikubai is located in the Shimo-goryo area in Kitanomine village, about a 15-minute walk from the ski slopes (though it’s a bit closer at the end of the day if you ski down via the old Furano Prince hotel). It is a 10-15 minute walk to the restaurants and bars of Kitanomine village. It is not on a public shuttle route. We would recommend having your own vehicle if staying here.
