- Daily communal dining encourages socializing—ideal for solo travelers and groups.
- Limited nightlife beyond the lodge—come for the skiing, not the party scene.
SCOUT REVIEW
Rustler Lodge is an Alta institution—a place where serious skiers return year after year for its unbeatable access, warm hospitality, and old-school mountain charm. Set right on the slopes at Alta Ski Area, the Rustler is one of the few true ski-in ski-out lodges in Little Cottonwood Canyon. From the moment you step inside, you’ll feel the blend of comfort and tradition that defines this place.
The lodge’s design nods to classic alpine style: wood beams, roaring fireplaces, and panoramic mountain views from nearly every corner. Rooms range from simple, cozy standards to more spacious deluxe rooms and suites, many with slope views. While not flashy or ultra-modern, everything feels thoughtfully maintained and perfectly suited to a skier’s needs—warm beds, hot showers, and plenty of hooks for wet gear.
Rustler Lodge’s amenities elevate it well above typical mountain lodges. Rates include a full breakfast buffet and multi-course dinner, both consistently excellent. The après-ski offerings are just as appealing: unwind in the outdoor heated pool and hot tubs, or gather in the Eagle’s Nest lounge with a drink while watching the sunset paint the peaks.
Service is another standout. Many staff have been here for decades, and the sense of community between guests and employees makes the experience feel personal and genuine. With an in-house ski shop, complimentary ski lockers, and easy access to Alta’s Collins and Wildcat lifts, your ski days couldn’t be more effortless.
Rustler Lodge embodies what makes Alta special—unpretentious luxury, incredible snow, and a shared love of skiing.
