SCOUT REVIEW
There’s something to be said about coming to the mountains and staying in a log cabin, and it’s particularly appropriate in Montana which is, after all, cowboy country. The Powder Ridge Cabins fit the bill perfectly – they’re for wannabe cowboys who like a bit of ski-in ski-out luxury.
The property consists of a collection of cabins scattered around a ridge – not far from the Mountain Village area. Each cabin feels private, and most feature wooded views. The cabins are just off the Bozeman Trail on the northern boundary of the ski terrain and close to the White Otter chairlift (some cabins will require a little walk after taking off your skis). Choose from a range of three, four, and five bedroom cabin options, ideal for larger families and groups. The bedding varies throughout, however, most cabins offer options of king master bedrooms and twins or bunk beds in the additional bedrooms. All cabins also offer a number of bathrooms, so no need to fight for the showers after a day on the slopes.
Scout loves these cabins. For starters they’re huge – there’s plenty of room for one large family or two small families to spread out. Next, all cabins are luxuriously appointed with modern mountain furniture, roaring wood-burning fireplaces, and stainless steel appliances in the kitchens. Cabins also include a laundry and a ski storage area – some also come with garages. To top everything off each cabin has its own hot tub on the balcony so you can have a nice relaxing soak without anyone else around (except the fir trees).
The Powder Ridge Cabins are the perfect option for a longer ski vacation at Big Sky, providing all the necessary comforts for families and groups.
Who should stay here
Powder Ridge Cabins are great for families or groups who have their own transport and want a real mountain home-away-from-home.
Location
Powder Ridge Cabins are located about half a mile from the Mountain Village Center (check in is at the Summit). It’s possible to ski-in and ski-out of most cabins (some require a short walk). In the mornings, guests ski to the White Otter lift to access the main slopes.

About Big Sky
Big Sky Montana used to be one of skiing’s best kept secrets. While the word about this fantastic resort has gotten out, the resort just continues to get better – especially since it acquired two neighboring resorts, including Moonlight Basin. Offering the largest skiable terrain in Montana (over 5800 acres!), Big Sky also boasts one of the biggest vertical drops in North America - a staggering 4366 feet - meaning incredible steep slopes, chutes, and leg-burning runs, along with plenty of intermediate and beginner terrain.
