SCOUT REVIEW
Located right in the heart of central Hirafu Village, M Lodge is the more basic version of its sister hotel next door, the M Hotel.
For those on a tight budget, yet not quite up to the shared bathroom, lodge style accommodation that is generally offered in the affordable price range (for Niseko at least) M Lodge makes a great choice.
Service at the hotel is minimal - there is no reception (guests check in next door at M Hotel), and rooms are only cleaned every three days.
The rooms are fairly minimal as well – clean, basic and small but they serve a great purpose and that is as a central Hirafu base and a comfortable place to lay your head at night.
M Lodge Niseko is not for those that are planning to spend hours relaxing in their room every night – not that you can’t. It’s just that the rooms are pretty small and there is no siting area (and no common lounge). But that shouldn’t be a problem since all of Hirafu’s cafes, bars and restaurants are just a hop, skip and a jump away.
Guests can choose to have breakfast next door at the M Hotel, however there’s also a ¾ size fridge in every room and a common microwave for everyone to use.
The M Lodge ambience could be described as a bit dated and cold, but overall the rooms are decent and clean. When combined with its location, the price can’t be beat.
Who should stay here
M Lodge Niseko is perfect for the more budget minded, (including solo travellers), and those who want to be in the heart of Niseko Hirafu village.
