SCOUT REVIEW
The Creekside area of Whistler is often overlooked by visitors seeking accommodation. Naturally, they head straight for the main village area, or possibly Blackcomb Mountain where there are several large and luxurious hotels.
But ever since the Winter Olympics, Creekside (which was the launching point for many of the Alpine events) has grown in popularity – and for good reason. To start with, it’s quieter, and it offers fast access to the Whistler Mountain slopes via a gondola. Better still, it’s much better value than the village, and it has everything you could possibly need – including access to the slopes, ski rentals, and ticket offices, as well as many great bars and restaurants (don’t miss Dusty’s, which is a highly popular spot for apres). Finally, ever since the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola opened, skiers can access Blackcomb Mountain right from the top of Whistler Mountain.
If all of this sounds good to you, Legends Whistler is Creekside’s most centrally located condo complex, and it’s the perfect choice for families looking for a great value ski escape.
The building is located just off the Sea to Sky Highway – getting here from Vancouver couldn’t be easier. Plus, since the Legends reception desk is open 24 hours, you can check in at any time.
Located within the building is a kid’s room (with an Xbox Kinect), a lounge/library area, a media room that schedules several movies every afternoon and night, a gym, an outdoor pool, and two hot tubs (one which is exclusively for adults). In other words, it’s basically impossible to get bored while staying here – and that’s before you even consider the world-class skiing to be had just outside your door.
The condos themselves are comfortable and large. Some have fantastic views of the slopes and gondola area, while others look towards the creek or valley. Thanks to the property’s slope-side location, the large windows reflect light from the snow, making the rooms nice and bright in the limited hours of the Canadian winter daylight. Bedding varies between units, but many offer twin bedding (perfect for families). Meanwhile, each condo comes with a balcony, washing machine and dryer, fireplace, and a full kitchen with granite counter tops – transforming them into a true home away from home.
For those wanting to head into Whistler Village, there is a great bus service that provides easy access (and only takes 5 minutes). Legend is a fantastic condo option for families in Creekside; particularly those seeking a bit more peace and quiet and quick access to the slopes each morning (away from the lift lines!).
Who should stay here
Legends Whistler would suit families on a budget who want a quieter alternative to the condos located within Whistler Village – but who still want something nice and also want convenient access to the slopes, shops and restaurants.
Location
Legends is located within the center of the Whistler Creekside area, which is about 5-10 minutes’ drive to Whistler Village. It offers direct access to Whistler Mountain via the Creekside Gondola – Legends is just steps from the ski base. Whistler is about a 2.5 hour drive from Vancouver airport.

About Whistler Blackcomb
