SCOUT REVIEW
Kristiana Hotel in Lech is one of the most unique ski hotels in the world. This charming, luxurious and unique hotel has the most eclectic collection of furnishings and art that will make you feel like you have just taken a trip around the world. A family owned and operated hotel, it was built in the 1960’s by world renowned Austrian Winter Olympics gold medalist, Othmar Schneider. Today the hotel is managed by his daughter Gertrud. The hotel is a potpourri of different styles and furnishings that will remind you of exquisite places from across the globe. It feels like a vibrant museum where each piece of furnishing, decoration or art work has been carefully put together to create a resplendent and vivacious ambiance.
Its magic is not only seen in its lobby area but in its rooms as well. The hotel has 29 rooms, each one with its own distinct personality based on the origin of the furnishings. Its eight rooms are done in an Austrian alpine style, but it’s the suites where you step into a different world. Whether it’s the orient, the mountains or contemporary city, each one is defined by its amazing mix of furnishings, art and decorations.
All the rooms and suites have great views of the mountains or the village valley. The rooms are ample in size but the bathrooms are a little small although very clean and well-maintained.
The hotel has three restaurants namely the Otto Wagner which serves elegant and savory fine dining dishes, Kristiana Classic which serves French cuisine, Kristiana Austrian where you can have a hearty Austrian traditional dish and where steaks are grilled in an open fire place. The hotel has a cozy lobby where you can relax and listen to contemporary or classic music accompanied by a Steinway piano.
Tthe hotel has a small wellness area which is only equipped with a sauna and Jacuzzi.
There are so many things to love in Kristiana Hotel. From the bath butlers who make sure you get the right temperature for your baths, the resident writer who will place new short stories at your dining table every night, personalized picnics in the snow, and exquisitely prepared food, Kristiana Hotel offers a unique and marvelous experience.
