SCOUT REVIEW
Koharu Resort Hotel & Suites are new and stylish apartments in the upper Wadano area of Hakuba. The developers have thought of most things an international skier might want, and added a few extras.
The first thing you’ll notice are the beautiful Scandinavian furnishings – think woods, whites and greys with touches of red. All of this combines to create an urban and modern feel, although it should be pointed out that these apartments are not a good choice for those who want to immerse themselves in the Japanese culture.
At 25sqm the studios are pretty small – they’re really just hotel rooms with tiny kitchenettes and a small dining table. The one bedroom apartments are larger, with proper living areas separated from the bedroom by a sliding door (or a separate room). These rooms feature dining tables and foldout couches (making them suitable for two adults and one young child).
All the apartments have a decent-sized bathroom and these double up as a drying area for your ski clothes. There’s also a washer/dryer in every apartment, along with Skype phones and the usual mod-cons.
At the back of the building there are more one and two-bedroom apartments. The three-bedroom penthouse suite is huge, and decorated in the same modern style. It would be perfect for professional couples or friends seeking a luxurious and stylish place to stay.
Who should stay here
