SCOUT REVIEW
Schwazer Adler Kitzbuhel is such a surprise! Its exterior is of the old traditional style and when Scout arrived we were half expecting to see another dated traditional style hotel with lots of pastel colors and carved wooden furniture. However a spate of renovations has completely revamped the hotel and it now has a contemporary and cool atmosphere with a bunch of extra luxuries.
The most recent renovation was to the hotel rooms which all underwent major renovations in 2012. Some of the rooms’ furnishings are of the modern alpine style, while the others, particularly the larger rooms, are now furnished in the urban contemporary style. One of the best rooms in the hotel is the double room deluxe Pass Thurn, done in a contemporary style, and has a superb panoramic view of the mountains.
The hotel restaurant has 3 individually decorated parlors namely the "Tiroler Stube", the "Hirschenstube" and the "Kitz Stube". It serves a delicious breakfast buffet and delightful four-course dinner for those on half board. It has another fine dining restaurant called Neuwirt serving regional specialties with a twist, at pretty decent prices.
Opened in 2008, the fully-equipped three story spa is one of the best in town. It features various saunas and steam baths, spacious beauty center for relaxing massages, exclusive beauty treatments and an indoor pool. The spa is only open from 8 am to 8 pm so do keep that in mind. One of the highlights of this spa is the rooftop pool which is open all year round although it can be chilly during the winter season as the pool temperature is constantly at 23 degrees. Aside from being the largest rooftop pool in the Alps, the swimming pool features an underwater sound system, counter current swimming and massage jets. The roof deck has a bar and a lounge with cozy sofas where you can relax and enjoy the 360 degrees panoramic views. There’s also a modern fitness center.
Schwazer Adler is in a convenient location, a short walk from the Kitzbuhel old town and about 10 minutes up the hill to Hahnenkamm Gondola.

About Kitzbuhel
If the world-famous Hahnenkamm World Cup Men’s downhill race didn’t exist, Kitzbühel would still be loved for its enchanting and historic medieval town and excellent ski mountain.
