SCOUT REVIEW
Hotel Puerta del Sol is a wonderful hotel in Valle Nevado that caters exceptionally well to families. Located slopeside, the hotel is technically not ski-in/ski-out, however, barely a short shuffle away from the runs. This mid-range hotel boasts everything you'll need for your ski vacation, and is conveniently close to the resort facilities & Hotel Valle Nevado (where guests can make use of the hotel's amenities). The hotel boasts a cosy lounge, library room, dedicated kids play area, and day spa. Guests also have access to the resort fitness centre & outdoor heated pool.
As with all Chilean ski packages, lift pass, breakfast & dinner are included daily. The buffet at the on-site restaurant, Mirador del Ploma, has an amazing range of traditional Chilean breakfast items to enjoy, and a perfect start to the day. Dinner is also served here, with a large buffet that includes fresh made-to-order pasta. Guests can choose from a variety of restaurants each night, spread throughout the Valle Nevado resort base. Apres is a major part of any ski vacation, and the hotel's Bar Puerta del Sol is a perfect spot to enjoy a quiet drink and take in the stunning mountain views.
The rooms at Puerta del Sol are tastefully decorated, and although not as contemporary as Hotel Valle Nevado, are comfortable and spacious. The guestrooms facing North feature a balcony overlooking the pool and resort area, while those facing South have large bay windows for guests to enjoy the view. Ideal for families and groups travelling together, the rooms have connecting doors, allowing for multiple configurations, as well as two bedroom units and a 2-storey loft-style room catering for 4 peoplle. The double-double rooms can sleep up to 5 guests in total.
