- The hotel's common areas are stylish and interesting, as are the renovated rooms.
- The hotel's pizzeria serves great value dishes that are also good quality and very kid friendly.
Scout tips
- The hotel is a decent walk to the St Moritz Bad tram, and a 20 minute walk up to the center of St Moritz. The hotel does not offer shuttles.
- Rooms close to the street get noise, so the higher the floor, the less noise you get.
- Baby beds can be requested for an extra charge.
- The hotel has no parking, but the town's public parking is close by, 100 meters from the hotel. Public parking spaces charge fees.
SCOUT REVIEW
Hotel Piz is a fantastic option for those on a tighter budget in St Moritz, which is pretty hard to come by here given all the luxurious hotels in the area. A relatively small hotel, Hotel Piz has some nice common areas that are relaxed with lots of chairs to hang about, and a very vibrant, happening hotel bar serving cocktails. The atmosphere feels young, vibrant and happening.
Hotel Piz was renovated in 2009, and features 25 rooms, some of which have been more recently refurbished. The Deluxe rooms are quite stylish, but the rest are simply furnished (think Ikea style) but are still fantastic, simple, clean, and quite well sized. All the Standard rooms face the back of the hotel, whereas the Deluxe and Single rooms face the street, which could present a few problems with noise. There are also Family rooms with bunk beds for the kids, which can sleep up a family of four.
All prices include breakfast, and there's a half board supplement for dinner at the hotel’s pizza restaurant. It has a sort of chalet style ambiance, and is open for lunch and dinner. In keeping with the theme of the hotel, the restaurant is great value for money but also delicious.
There are some other wonderful features here that includes a kid's play area, with pin-ball machines, and playstations. The hotel has a small wellness area with steam bath, sauna, and experiential showers. There's also a ski room to safely store your skis.
Piz Hotel is determined to keep prices low, in a town that is regarded as having the most expensive ski hotel rooms in the world. Yet it still manages to do this in a comfortable and stylish way.
Who should stay here
Great three star hotel that young couples or young families on a budget will find very convenient, fairly close to all the action and not far from the ski resort lifts.
Location
Hotel Piz is located in downtown St Moritz bad, down the hill from St Moritz Dorf, via the Grevas bus. This means it is about a ten minute walk to the St Moritz Bad tram station. There is also a bus stop outside the hotel that leaves every thirty minutes to Corvatsch or Corviglia.
- On or close to public shuttle route
