Hotel Munin is a great hotel in Furano that offers a lovely blend of traditional Japanese and modern Western hospitality, and in a fantastic location. A relatively new property in Furano, Hotel Munin boasts some great on-site amenities and lovely staff, making sure each guest's stay is positive and memorable. The staff are on hand 24-hours a day and they can assist with requests and local information.
There are a range of rooms available, from simple double and twin rooms to large triple and family rooms which have a mix of Western beds and tatami mat floor areas. Each room is equipped with an ensuite bathroom, a flatscreen TV, and most rooms also have a mini fridge and coffee-making facilities.
The hotel boasts an on-site restaurant (Shunto) which serves Japanese and Western breakfast and dinner options (with huge portions) so it's great for those who want to simple crash when they return to the hotel. There is also a small public bath (onsen style) on site which can be used by guests (Scout loves the indoor/outdoor blend). Hotel Munin also features a garden and outdoor terrace, free WiFi and free parking and a daily housekeeping service is available. Ski storage and laundry facilities on site make it ideal for skiers and boarders who want a modern hotel for their ski vacation.

Location
Hotel Munin is located just a block away from the Main Street of Kitanomine Village. There are a number of bars, shops, restaurants and other hotels nearby to Hotel Munin but it is still a relatively quiet area of town. It is a decent walk to the gondola base area (just under 10 minutes uphill) at the ski resort so the local shuttle is recommended.

About Furano
Furano is up there with the best when it comes to ski resorts in Japan. Offering a wide variety of terrain, lots of powder, a good selection of accommodation and a relatively authentic village and nearby town, it has something for everyone and will suit a range of tastes and budgets. Furano is a good mix of Western influences and comforts, and Japanese culture. The ski resort itself caters to all ability levels and skiing preferences, from advanced off-piste and amazing sidecountry (easily accessed) to long leg-burning groomed runs. Receiving abundant snowfall each season (up to 9 metres), Furano is a perfect spot to experience true Hokkaido powder.
