Scout loves
- Amazing location close to the lifts and supermarket
- Range of condos to choose from to suit any family
- Private underground parking available
- The free town shuttle, The Galloping Goose, picks up from right outside
Scout tips
- Some condos may be a little dated - Scout thinks they could use an update
- Kitchens can be a bit on the small side
- Check in must be done at the office around the corner
- Skiing back to the condos can be a little challenging depending on snow conditions so you may want to take the gondola back if you have children
SCOUT REVIEW
Etta Place One and Cimarron Lodge are two condo properties located in the heart of Telluride. These properties offer great value ski accommodation within a stone's throw of the lifts and the Galloping Goose shuttle leaves from right outside if you ever want to venture further around town. All condos have self-catering facilities so they are great for families looking to save a few pennies on meals. The condos are located close to the supermarket too so you can easily stock up on everything you need.
While Etta Place is practically ski-in, ski-out and Cimarron Lodge is a very short walk, these condos have easy access to the Coonskin lift, though the ski runs back are predominantly black so may be too challenging for some. You can also grab the gondola to come back down, and then a shuttle to the condo.
These condos are simple and comfortable but do not offer flash mod-cons for those seeking luxury accommodation. Scout recommends Etta Place One and Cimarron Lodge for those looking for good value accommodation in town, with easy access to the slopes. Each condo has a cozy lounge, a full kitchen, a small dining area and one, two, three or four bedrooms. Many are split-level, offering spacious living and dining, and separate bedroom areas, perfect for families. Bedding varies throughout, however, are quite flexible in terms of split kings, bunks, and sleeper sofas.
Etta Place One and Cimarron Lodge don't have a whole host of communal facilities on site but guests do have access to hot tubs and laundry facilities. There is a washer and dryer in each condo for convenience.
The location of these condos means you're in a much quieter part of Telluride town, but still within walking distance to the main street restaurants, bars and retail shops, and barely metres from the nearest chairlift. Etta Place One and Cimarron Lodge are popular among families, particularly those on a mid-range budget who seek self-contained accommodation slopeside but without the price-tag of staying in the main mountain village.
Overall, Etta Place One and Cimarron Lodge offer great value Telluride lodging for families, close to the chairlift and easy access into downtown Telluride.
Who should stay here
Etta Place One and Cimarron Lodge are best for those spending most of their days out on the slopes and the evenings in town. They are perfect for those who want to be right by Chairlift 7 and 8.
Location

About Telluride
Telluride is a spectacular resort in the heart of Colorado’s San Juan mountains. Getting there is half the fun – the scenic drive from Gunnison or Durango is topped off with an even more picturesque main street. Rarely are ski resorts as pretty as they are challenging, with a nightlife as exciting as it is laid-back, and with accommodation that ranges from ultimate luxury to great budget hotels. Telluride is the complete package and Scout adores it.
