SCOUT REVIEW
Der Berghof is a stylish charming hotel in Lech which offers guests a fun, welcoming and memorable stay. Ideally located close to the main street and a short walk to the ski lifts, Der Berghof is great for couples and families alike. It even has its own beginners slope!
Scout loves the lounge by the lobby with its comfy sofas and bar area making it the perfect place for a nice relax in the afternoon. Half-board is served in the lovely restaurant which includes an extensive breakfast and sumptuous evening meals which usually comprise of a 6-course menu. The chefs rely on local produce to create their menus. Guests will also enjoy a traditional fondue dinner one night during their stay.
The rooms at Der Berghof are modern and comfortable with plush furnishings, sleek bathrooms and great tech equipment. There rooms are in two buildings at Der Berghof, the main building which houses more traditional Austrian style rooms and some modern-urban styled rooms and then the second newer building which has more modern alpine styling. In the main building, each room is unique in that it has its own design and they are also a variety of sizes (including some for families). The rooms in the second exterior building have views of the hotels' own beginner slope (that isn't connected to the main ski area) which is free for guests to use. These rooms are great for families who have first-timer kids, or just for snow play as most rooms have doors directly onto the snow. This building also has connecting rooms which are perfect for families.
Der Berghof’s wellness area is wonderful and extremely well-equipped. The wellness center includes a number of saunas, steam rooms and baths as well as treatments and fitness classes. The wellness area generally has nude, mixed bathing though some people wear swimsuits.
Children can enjoy the on-site facilities such as a toddler room with toys and crafts and a teen area with computers, a Wii and plenty of games.
The location of Der Berghof is perfect. Situated in a quiet area above the main street, yet connected directly to the street level by the hotels' own elevator. Getting to the slopes is just a few minutes walk.
Who should stay here
Der Berghof is a particularly good ski hotel for families in Austria as it offers specific amenities for children. Those wanting a peaceful stay won’t be disappointed either though as the on-site spa is the perfect place to relax.
Location
Der Berghof is located just above the main village of Lech but actually provides guests with a lift which takes them directly from the hotel to street level which means no steep steps! There are several ski lifts within an easy few minutes walk.
