SCOUT REVIEW

Kiroro Ski Resort has undergone a huge transformation in recent years. Saying goodbye to the older hotels that were dotted throughout the ski area, we welcome two new and improved Club Med resorts - Club Med Kiroro Grand and Club Med Kiroro Peak- both offering that stress-free all-inclusive ski experience in one of Japan's snowiest ski destinations.

Club Med Kiroro Grand is ideal for families of all ages, catering for even the littlest ski adventures (from ages 2+). Like any typical Club Med, you can expect not to lift a finger, with your accommodation, lift passes, all meals, Kids Club and premium open bar included for the duration of your stay. What Scout loves about this Club Med is the super sweet 'enchanted forest' feel and decor throughout, which families agree adds to the magical atmosphere.

Club Med Kiroro Grand boasts over 266 room options to choose from, including Superior, Deluxe and larger Family Suites - bedding is set, with king or twins in most bedrooms, and single sleeper sofa beds for extra guests or small children. The rooms are spacious and modern, featuring natural finishes with bold spots of colour throughout. Junior Family Superior Rooms are most popular, as it allows a family of 4 to share the one room comfortably. For those seeking more space, the Suites boast a separate living space with full dining space and wonderful views. The one note from Scout is that Club Med Kiroro Grand does NOT have interconnecting rooms - meaning larger families may have to split across multiple rooms (although we can request them to be as close as possible to one another).

The all-inclusive resort is home to fantastic restaurants and bars for guests to enjoy - from Yoichi (the main restaurant) with 4 dining rooms and an international spread, to specialty restaurants like The Ebisu (sushi), The Kaen (yakiniku) and The Ogon (oriental). Families will also enjoy The Nook, a calming lounge area.

As with any Club Med, kids are a focal point, and Kiroro Grand offers a stack of activities for ages 2+. Petit Kids Club (2-3 years), Mini Kids Club (4-10 years), and Junior Kids Club all boast separate programs that tailor to each child's needs. The additional indoor family space, kids outdoor play area, and snow garden are sure to keep the little ones entertained.

In terms of entertainment (for those who KNOW the Club Med experience), Club Med Kiroro Peak features a Taiko - a high energy performance art that combines music (traditional drums), dance, martial arts, athletics, and culture. Alongside this, there are endless family activities - from mini winter games, snowman making, board games, family treasure hunts, and big winter festivals.

Alongside skiing, you can enjoy an array of activities such as fitness programs (yoga, pilates, etc), spa and wellness (massage, hot stone, sauna, calm lounge), snow trekking, aqua fitness and the indoor swimming pool (with separate kids area). Club Med Kiroro Grand also offers an indoor ofuro bath and traditional onsen. If you're wanting to explore further afield, a day trip to nearby town of Otaru is a must - cute pokey coastal town known for its handblown glass, canal, shopping streets and distilleries.
