SCOUT REVIEW
Hotel Bergland is a stylish 4-star hotel in the heart of Soelden. It is a family-run hotel whose heritage has played an essential part in creating the booming ski tourism industry in Soelden that you see today. The old hotel was built more than 60 years ago, however it was mostly knocked down and the new one opened in 2010. Fortunately they kept historic parts of the building such as the cellar and retained the pine wood from the original Stube (restaurant) for using in the restaurant.
Rooms and suites are extremely spacious with sleek modern furnishings and stylish bathrooms. There are a number of interconnecting family rooms that can be created so please ask about this if you are travelling as a family. The big suites are south facing. Some rooms have garden and building views and generally the higher the floor, the more mountains you will see.
The Sky Spa at Hotel Bergland is the piece de resistance with 1700sqm of spa facilities including a stunning indoor pool, a selection of saunas, treatment rooms and a fitness center. The gym boasts uncompromised alpine views which Scout thinks has to be one of the best views to work out to! Each of the rooms comes with a Wellness Sky Bag with robes, slippers and towels for use in the spa.
The family behind the Bergland Hotel have a long-standing love of food and wine and this is apparent in the effort and style they put into serving up delicious cuisine. A buffet breakfast is provided daily or you can opt for an a la carte all day breakfast menu. Evenings bring with them gourmet meals, gala dinners and themed buffets which are all created using fresh, local produce.
While it is located right next to the small train that takes you to the beginner area, it is about 7-10 minutes walk to either of the main gondolas. At the end of the day it's possible to ski to the top of the train which takes you directly back to the hotel.
Who should stay here
Hotel Bergland is great for couples and families on a ski vacation in Soelden. There are plenty of facilities to keep both adults and children entertained and the stylish design is sure to please everyone.
Location
Hotel Bergland is located next to the Zentrum-Shuttle Cable Car allowing you to easily reach the beginner slopes and also easy access to the hotel at the end of the day. The best way to access the main parts of the ski resort in the morning are a walk to either of the main gondolas which are both 7-10 minutes walk, or to take a public shuttle bus (the hotel doesn't offer a village shuttle). The hotel has a number of great activities and facilities on site but you’re also never far from the amenities in central Soelden.
