SCOUT REVIEW
Austria Haus Hotel is a quaint European style hotel right in the heart of Vail, Colorado. This is the perfect way to combine Austrian charm and history with the winter wonderland that is Vail Ski Resort. As you step into the hotel you're greeted by warm Austrian hospitality, coupled with fantastic decor including high beams, warm earth tones, natural-wood accents, hand-textured walls, and coffered ceilings.
The 25 guest rooms and suites at Austria Haus are cozy and comfortable with plush furnishings, comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms (many with a separate toilet and bath area). Some rooms also boast fireplaces and balconies for that extra special touch. The standard hotel rooms are quite spacious for entry level, and are available with a king or two double beds. The Deluxe rooms boast great storage for all your ski gear with shelves in the closets (rarely seen in hotel rooms), and a large lounge with a gas fireplace. Scout loves the rooms that have an extra den space, filled with sitting chairs by the window, the perfect spot for an afternoon read or to simply take in the views.
Traditional breakfast is served daily at Austria Haus with a varying selection of fresh-baked pastries and breads, seasonal fruits, meats, cheeses, oatmeal, cold cereals, Vail Mountain Coffee, juices and more. Plus, they stay open later on the weekends, perfect for those wanting a relaxing start to their day. Warming tea, coffee and cookies are served in the lounge on your return from the slopes. If you're lucky enough to be booked in on a Monday, you'll receive complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres too! The hospitality at Austria Haus is homely and second to none, which makes it a wonderful place to stay in Vail, away from the fast paced and glitzy Vail Village.
A small outdoor pool and hot tub are available for use throughout your stay which is a great place to soak up the atmosphere of Vail in the evening (plus the views are great!), enjoying an apres ski drink before heading out into the village for dinner. All of Vail's favourite bars and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Located an easy 10 minute walk to Gondola One, it's location is ideal for couples and solo travellers who plan to hit both the slopes and the happening nightlife each day.
Overall, Austria Haus oozes with warmth and character, and is well suited to couples and solo travellers seeking a wonderful boutique experience in Vail.

About Vail
If Aspen is Hollywood then Vail is Wall St - popular with the money-never-sleeps-but-it-does-wear-Bogner set. Attracting tens of thousands of visitors a year, it’s quite the place to be seen, and to ski! Luxury is standard at Vail, the pedestrian-friendly village weaves around the buildings and has a wonderful European-style feel to it. The mountain terrain (one of the largest in the world) boasts perfectly groomed corduroy, powder stashes galore, and pristine tree skiing. Team this up with endless accommodation options, easy access from Denver, and one of the best après scenes in North America, it's no surprise Vail is a favourite among local and international ski enthusiasts.
