SCOUT REVIEW
A charming and simple hotel Alpenhof is a traditional Austrian themed hotel that has a very laid back and homey atmosphere. It is in a fantastic location, just across the road from Mammoth Village with its restaurants, bars and shops and the Village Gondola. Although the hotel has undergone changes, renovations and refurbishments since its establishment, it still has a 1970’s ambiance but with a modern twist.
The hotel has 58 rooms ranging from double rooms to a two-bedroom cabin. All the rooms are ample in size and are equipped with modern amenities such as flat-screen TV, DVD player, iPod docking alarm clock, and ski/snowboard racks. Some of the rooms at the front can be affected by noise from the bar (although it closes by 11pm). The rooms located in the back building are quieter, bigger and you can request one upon checking-in for an extra charge. All in all, the rooms are warm and welcoming, and offer a cosy chalet-style atmosphere that is unique to larger ski resorts like Mammoth.
A European style continental breakfast is included in the rate. Along with Petra's Bistro & Wine Bar, Alpenhof is home to the Clocktower Cellar which has very old world charm ambiance, and features more than 50 bottled beers, 26 beers on draught, cocktails and over 160 whiskies.
The Alpenhof lodge is a fantastic option for a ski vacation in Mammoth, particularly for those looking for traditional lodge-style accommodation with a European twist within walking distance of the Mammoth Village base.
Who should stay here
