SCOUT REVIEW
Thanks to Vail Resorts, The Canyons side of Park City has evolved into a full ski resort and village, and consequently there are plenty of larger (and newer) hotels to choose from. Think: large and modern buildings and bustling plaza areas. It’s the polar opposite to the Park City side, which has a long history and is characterized by its stately residential homes and smaller, more old-fashioned hotels.
The Grand Summit boasts fantastic hotel rooms that are bright and modern, though somewhat simple in their decor. Entry level queen rooms are rather spacious. The studios are even larger, and include a decent size kitchenette with all the amenities you need to cook up a storm. Most of these rooms can be combined to make a two bedroom unit, ideal for families and groups. The one and two bedroom condos are even bigger, and include full kitchens. There would be plenty of room for a family of four, even in a one bedroom. Housekeeping is more than happy to make up the two day-beds with linens if you would prefer – and most kids love it! The cream of the crop is the 4 bedroom penthouse, with a modern mountain luxury, split level living, and plenty of bedding options for a larger family or group of friends. Corner units are highly recommended also. Views can vary throughout, with the lower levels overlooking the garage, however, views can be requested.
The Grand Summit boasts wonderful facilities, including a huge outdoor pool and hot tub, Resort Rocks Spa, and a great daycare program for kids that include both indoor and outdoor play times. There is a shuttle on demand, plus a free village bus service and shuttle to Park City, so you're never far away from all the happenings of downtown. Ski school is located barely 2 minutes walk away, making the hotel an ideal option for families with beginners. Skiers love the easy access to the slopes each morning, plus close proximity to the gondola and orange bubble chair.
The Canyons Grand Summit Hotel is one of the biggest full-service hotels in The Canyons Village, and has everything you could possibly want – including ski valets, room service, and a 24 hour fitness center. There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from, including The Farm, which sources all its food from within a 200 mile radius, plus great buffet breakfast at The Cabin. First Tracks Cafe is also a popular choice for those wanting a quick grab-and-go breakfast.
The Grand Summit Hotel is a fantastic Canyons lodging option for families and couples who enjoy ski-in ski-out access to the slopes of Canyons Resort, plus wonderful hotel amenities.
Who should stay here
The Canyons Grand Summit Hotel would be perfect for families who are looking to stay right at the base of The Canyons, and who want the full services of a hotel but with the flexibility to cook inside their own condo. Don’t expect the full-scale modern luxury of the St Regis or Waldorf, but remember it’s also about half the price.
Location
The Grand Summit hotel is situated right at the base of The Canyons ski resort, and in the heart of the village. The Canyons is about 25 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport and 10 minutes from Park City Main Street. A public bus leaves from right outside the hotel and has destinations all over the area including Park City Mountain and Deer Valley. The Canyons also has a complimentary in-resort shuttle.

About Park City
Park City has a combination of several elements that make it one of the best ski resorts in North America. Not only is it a world-class ski mountain but it’s a charming and happening town, all within 35 minutes of a major airport. There aren’t many places you can fly to in the morning and be skiing in the afternoon. Park City is also famous for hosting a third of the events during the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics, as well as the annual Sundance Film Festival that sees the town bursting at the seams while the well-heeled and famous party. When a gondola was built connecting neighbouring Canyons resort to Park City Resort the area became one and the name Canyons was eventually dropped. Park City Mountain now offers a mammoth amount of terrain to explore (with two village bases - Mountain Village and Canyons Village), exceptional facilities for families, and lodging options to suit all budgets.
