SCOUT REVIEW
Juniper Springs Resort in Mammoth Lakes, California, is one of the most convenient lodging options for ski enthusiasts who crave easy access to the mountain. Sitting right at the base of the Eagle Express Chairlift, this resort offers true ski-in/ski-out convenience — a rare find in Mammoth. The property’s condo-style accommodations make it feel like a comfortable mountain home rather than a traditional hotel. Each unit features a full kitchen, gas fireplace, and private balcony, making it easy to unwind after a long day on the slopes.
The resort’s amenities are excellent for both families and couples. Two outdoor heated pools and multiple hot tubs overlook the mountains, offering the perfect spot to relax and soak under the stars. There’s also a fitness center, game room, and lobby lounge with a cozy fireplace — ideal for après-ski downtime. On-site ski lockers and underground parking add extra convenience.
While the Eagle Lodge base is quieter than the bustling Mammoth Village, guests can easily reach restaurants and nightlife via the free town shuttle. The trade-off for tranquility is fewer dining and shopping options within walking distance, so it’s wise to plan ahead with groceries or meal prep.
Overall, Juniper Springs Resort hits the sweet spot between comfort, convenience, and value — particularly for families and ski-focused travelers who prioritize direct lift access and self-catering flexibility.
Who should stay here
Perfect for families, couples, and ski groups seeking spacious, self-catering accommodations with true ski-in/ski-out access and a relaxed, low-key mountain atmosphere.
Scout Customer Reviews
The location of Juniper Springs was fantastic, we loved that it was just steps to the lift and we could store our skis downstairs. We navigated the buses pretty easily and went out to eat most nights, there isn’t really anywhere for dinner at Juniper Springs but it didn’t bother us with the buses.
We had amazing snow and it wasn’t overly busy even on the martin luther king weekend. We had a great big snowstorm and even in the middle of that made the most of the hot tubs in the snow. Helen, Scout Customer, 2019
