SCOUT REVIEW
Huntley Lodge was one of the first hotels to be built in Big Sky, and it was part of Chet Huntley’s original vision. As a result it enjoys a fantastic position in the mountain village, just a short walk from the lifts and all the bars and restaurants. A recent remodel of the hotel rooms has seen a fresh, modern look for guest rooms.
Many of the rooms have great slope-side views looking up at Lone Peak. The rooms are a decent size too and feature an extra seating area as well as a refrigerator and coffee maker. The bedding is standard throughout with two queen beds, and for small families (or a group of friends) there is a great lofted suite with an additional third queen bed / twins.
Huntley Lodge is a full service hotel, which means it comes with a concierge, luggage service, room service and daily housekeeping. Even better, there are some excellent facilities here such as a huge outdoor swimming pool, two hot tubs, a fitness center, saunas and ski storage. There is also a café and restaurants in the hotel. Oh, and the staff are friendly and super helpful!
Best of all, it all comes for one of the most decent prices in Big Sky.
Huntley Lodge is a large hotel, and getting to some rooms can take a while. But our biggest warning is the noise, which travels between the rooms and corridors. Considering this, if you are a light sleeper this may not be the hotel for you. But if it’s something you can handle, then for this price Huntley Lodge is certainly worth considering.
Who should stay here
Huntley Lodge is a great choice for families who are looking for some of the best value and most convenient accommodation in Big Sky, and who don’t mind a bit of noise.
Location
Huntley Lodge is located in the heart of Big Sky village, with easy slopeside access via the Explorer Chairlift. It is within close proximity to the mountain village restaurants, bars and shops, as well as resort services including ski school.

About Big Sky
Big Sky Montana used to be one of skiing’s best kept secrets. While the word about this fantastic resort has gotten out, the resort just continues to get better – especially since it acquired two neighboring resorts, including Moonlight Basin. Offering the largest skiable terrain in Montana (over 5800 acres!), Big Sky also boasts one of the biggest vertical drops in North America - a staggering 4366 feet - meaning incredible steep slopes, chutes, and leg-burning runs, along with plenty of intermediate and beginner terrain.
