If you’re looking for a reliable, high-quality, full service hotel in Mammoth then Scout feels the Westin Monache Resort Mammoth is your best bet. Located just a short walk to the village restaurants, bars and retail shops, and near the Village gondola, the Mammoth Westin is part of Marriott Hotels & Resorts.
The Westin Monache Resort at Mammoth boasts 208 rooms (or suites as they call them) across seven floors, offering something to suit all families and types of skiers. The suites range in size from studios through to two bedroom suites. Regardless of their size, all the suites have queen sleeper sofas, gas fireplaces, kitchen facilities and large windows. The one and two bedroom condos have dining areas and private patios. Compared to other condo properties in the area, the living space is fairly small so a family of four staying for longer than a few nights may feel a bit cramped. All the rooms are furnished and decorated in a contemporary American mountain style with tons of muted fabrics and lots of wood. Scout loves the trademark Heavenly Beds and Heavenly Baths, which add a little more of a luxurious feel to the suites (and makes it harder to get up each morning!).
The hotel has one restaurant, the Whitebark Restaurant, Bar and Lounge which serves a fantastic array of local produce including a hearty breakfast to start your day. And we’re happy to report that the food is great! It is also a top spot for sipping a cocktail while overlooking the mountain for après. Of course, the hotel is also within walking distance of the village’s restaurants and bars, so you can venture out and about each evening.
The Westin has some great facilities including a heated outdoor pool and two hot tubs, a 24 hour fully-equipped gym, and a Kid’s club which provides numerous activities for kids from ages 4-12 years in a supervised setting. There is a Body Works Mountain Spa on-site for those wanting to treat themselves to a spa session.

Location
The Westin is located in the village of Mammoth. It is a short gondola ride to Canyon lodge and the lifts from there. It is about three flights of stairs up from the base of the village and from there you can deposit your skis in the ski locker room. It is very central to everything in the main village and is relatively quick and easy to get to the ski slopes.
