SCOUT REVIEW

Back in 2015, the Sheraton group transformed what was once a fairly run-down dated hotel into a fancy ski-in ski-out hotel with beautiful, modern rooms. At the time the change was exactly what was missing from Kiroro. However with the recent renovation of the Tribute hotel and the addition of Yu Kiroro, the Sheraton now comes in third in terms of luxury. Located right at the base of Kiroro resort and just steps away from the ski school, it's perfect for powderhounds or those just learning pizza or French fry.

The Sheraton Kiroro offers 140 generously sized rooms, each boasting quite luxurious abodes with Western Style standard bedrooms which feature twin beds or King beds (depending on your preference). Rooms on the higher floor offer best views of the mountains or valley around. Some rooms on lower floors look directly into snow banks (the problem with staying in a resort with such high snowfall!), so it might be better to choose a room on the higher floor. All the rooms are stylishly decorated and furnished with a more urban city hotel style. All the rooms have full baths and guests have access to a semi-outdoor hot tub, cold bath and sauna. The Japanese style rooms are a fantastic option for families who seek a more traditional stay in Kiroro, with spacious tatami areas and futon mattresses. Breakfast is included in all hotel stays at the Sheraton Kiroro.

The Sheraton Kiroro offers a wonderful restaurant called Rivièrouge, which has a nice lounge area for après drinks, and a buffet restaurant that features international cuisines. The Hokki restaurant serves classic Japanese cuisine, with set menus and à la carte dishes, all prepared with locally sourced ingredients and a variety of seating options (including a private dining room that is perfect for multi-course kaiseki banquets!) There is also a Nikka Whiskey and beer bar with a fireplace and sport on a large TV. If you want to have variety, you can head off to the Tribute hotel or the nearby town of Otaru (40 minutes away).

Who should stay here

The Sheraton Hokkaido Kiroro Resort is ideal for those who want a stylish hotel, right at the ski base and just steps away from the ski school.
