Scout loves
- Great facilities – including 10 outdoor hot tubs
- Some condos have private hot tubs and fire pits
- Après happening every Friday evening during winter.
- The on-site spa facilities are great for post-ski massages.
- Ski storage is available right next to your condo. If you have your own skis you can also store them at a mountain ski shop by arrangement with the front desk.
Scout tips
- The three buildings that make up the Platinum Collection are Aspen Lodge, Emerald Lodge and Bear Lodge. If you are after a more budget collection you may want to consider Trappeur’s Crossing Resort & Spa which includes the property’s “gold” collection of condos.
- There’s a regular ski shuttle running on a loop. The shuttle also makes on call trips downtown.
- Condos are individually furnished by owners and will vary from condo to condo.
- Almost all of the condos have their own fireplace, balcony and washer/dryer. (Note: condos in the Trappeur’s Lodge building do not have laundry facilities).
SCOUT REVIEW
Trappeur’s Crossing is a huge condo complex located near the Steamboat ski resort base area. It comprises six buildings that are nestled among snowy gardens, with pools and hot tubs scattered throughout the grounds. The newer condos are classified as ‘Platinum’ and comprise of Aspen Lodge, Emerald Lodge and Bear Lodge.
The Platinum Collection condos have high ceilings, are bigger and the facilities are of high quality (granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, HDTVs etc.). Some of the ground floor condos have patios and a few even have their own private hot tubs and/or fire pits so you can sit out under the stars. All of the condos have a fire place, washer/dryer and balcony.
Kids will love the indoor/outdoor pool in the amenities centre plus all the pools in the surrounding courtyards – each day there’ll be a new pool to discover, as there are four in total. Meanwhile, parents will love the on-site spa as well as the Friday apres night, providing the opportunity to mix and mingle with other guests.
For those seeking a little luxury to their Steamboat ski vacation, the Platinum Collection at Trappeur's Crossing is a perfect lodging option.
Who should stay here
Platinum Collection at Trappeur’s Crossing would suit families who want space and higher end finishes. There’s plenty of room for entertaining a large group.
Location
Situated two long blocks from the main ski village base, Trappeur’s Crossing is just that little bit far to walk in the winter months. However, a regular shuttle bus runs on a loop for skiers, and is also on call for those wanting to venture further afield to downtown areas.
- <10 min walk to lifts
- Hotel shuttle provided
About Steamboat
Steamboat Ski Resort is located in northwestern Colorado about a 4-hour drive from Denver. Don’t let the more isolated location turn you off – it works in its favor since it creates a town with a unique character, away from the weekend hoards that flock to resorts closer to Denver. And with endless intermediate terrain, tons of extra activities, and a fantastic après scene, Steamboat makes a great choice.
