Scout tips
- Rooms with ‘resort views’ have views of the hotel building and surrounds (not the ski resort). However some rooms have pretty tree outlooks with glimpses of the ski slopes.
- Connecting rooms offer a private lobby area between them.
- Complimentary hotel shuttle into Main Street Park City.
- Suites have a basic kitchenette but no stovetop.
- Endless dining options on-site means you don't ever have to leave the hotel (except to ski!)
SCOUT REVIEW
From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice that Montage Deer Valley is different to other hotels. Instead of being checked in at the desk, a receptionist will greet you at the oversized front door, and will complete the check in and orientation process while walking you to your room. Make sure you pay close attention to the orientation speech – you WILL get lost in this maze of corridors and elevators which connect the 220 rooms. The hotel is also home to five restaurants, a variety of shops, Utah's biggest spa (with 29 treatment rooms) and lounge areas.
Unlike many other luxury hotels, Montage would suit a family vacation as much as it would a romantic getaway. Kids are quite welcome – with programs such as the ‘Paintbox’ (an amazing activities-based children’s program) and a special shuttle that takes kids (sans parents) to ski school.
With the hotel's five restaurants you will rarely need to venture anywhere else. There's a sushi restaurant (winter only) and a pub complete with a four-lane regulation bowling alley, Apex Steakhouse with the best locally sourced burgers & steaks, and a great coffee shop. Alongside this is a large family room area, home to live music, games, and gourmet smores every night (this place will keep the kids entertained for hours!). Montage is also proud to host a private tubing hill, exclusively for guests of the hotel, and a stunning indoor pool that has separate family hours & adults-only swim times.

For an extra step up, guests can stay in one of the Montage residences - ranging from 2 - 4 bedrooms, these boast full kitchens, laundry, spacious living, and extra special touches that make it feel just like home (from nice wooden floors, to deep soaking tubs and local artwork across the walls).
But what makes Montage truly remarkable is the ski valet service. Just as a ‘horse whisperer’ can transform a wild animal into an entity of divine calmness, these talented people can tame your ski boots and make them behave. All the 33 ski valets at Montage have undergone 16 hours of training just to learn how to buckle up and take off ski boots – which takes this pesky task out of your own hands. Seriously, this hotel takes ski valet to another level entirely. When you first get there, you’ll be checked in with an iPad. Then, after your designated boot whisperer has put on your boots (pre-warmed to 90 degrees) and clicked you into your skis (which will be already be on the slopes, facing downhill), your poles will be handed to you – and off you’ll go. At the end of the day, the ski valets will hand you a hot cocoa on a silver platter the moment they click you out of your skis, before gently caressing your boots off your tired legs. Everything considered, it’s surprising they don’t make the turns for you – but then again, they practically do in Deer Valley – where the slopes are groomed to perfect corduroy.

The Montage Deer Valley is located near Empire Canyon Lodge in the upper parts of Deer Valley ski resort. It has direct ski-in ski-out access and is situated at the base of the Ruby and Empire Express ski lifts. It is about 5 minutes drive to the main village of Deer Valley (near Silver Lake Lodge) and about a 15 minute drive to Park City Main Street – 45 minutes from Salt Lake City Airport (with no traffic).

Scout Booking Terms & Conditions
- Availability: Booking of all packages & accommodation is subject to availability at time of confirmation of package option by customer.
- Rate includes: All associated taxes. Some hotels charge extra fees for parking, cots, rollaways etc. Such fees can be confirmed on request based on your requirements.
- Payment Schedule:
- Deposit: 25% of the full amount is due WITHIN 7 DAYS OF CONFIRMATION to secure the booking.
- Final Balance: Invoice will be issued for the remaining balance 80 days prior to departure. PAYMENT IS DUE 70 DAYS PRIOR to departure. Failure to pay by 70 days may result in the auto-cancellation of accommodation by the accommodation provider or late payment fees.
- Bookings within 70 days: Full payment is required within 7 days to secure the booking.
- Variations: In some circumstances suppliers may have different payment policies to the above. Additionally some Early Bird deals require full payment by or soon after the book-by date. In these instances Scout will clearly communicate any variances prior to confirmation.
- Cancellation Policy:
- All deposits are non-refundable once received.
- For balance payments made within 70-45 days prior to the trip the deposit amount is non-refundable.
- No refund for total amount for cancellations 45 days or less prior to arrival and no-shows. In unexpected, unfortunate circumstances (family death etc) Scout will work to negotiate with the supplier for a full or partial refund, however this is not guaranteed. We recommend taking travel insurance to make sure you are covered. Cancelling due to weather, missed travel connections or lack of snow is not considered an unexpected circumstance and is one of the risks you must wear as part of taking a ski trip. Unless the supplier has a snow guarantee or weather cancellation policy, Scout will not refund any part of the package due to these factors.
- Variations: Please note that some hotels may have stricter policies (such as no refund within 60 days) and we are required to pass on these policies. We will communicate any varations to the above cancellation policy prior to confirmation of booking.
- Changes Policy:
- Once bookings are confirmed and deposit is paid service fees will apply for every amendment to existing elements, late final payment and travel document re-issue in addition to fees charged by suppliers
- In a few instances we purchase products through third party providers. If you change part of your package whilst at a destination, the 3rd party provider may have a different refund policy to that of the supplier in the destination. Wherever possible we will work to recover any refunds that come from a change at the destination, however it is not guaranteed.
- Surcharges: Scout does not charge any additional fees for the booking. Prices quoted are for cash (bank transfer) payments only. Credit card payments (Amex, Visa or Mastercard only) will be subject to 1.8% surcharge.
- Booking Currency: Scout will quote and charge in one currency of your choice from AUD, USD, CAD, JPY, EUR or GBP only.
- Currency Exchange Policy: If you book an international destination all remaining balances are subject to change (based on currency fluctuations) until the final payment has been processed. This can go either way (if your currency gets stronger you will be invoiced less!). We will confirm at the time of invoice what the final amount is, based on the exchange rate at that time. Should you wish to pay the balance earlier (prior to when it’s actually due) to secure that current exchange rate you are welcome to request the final invoice at any time. Once payments have been made (deposit or final balance), no refunds will be given for changes in the amount of what that payment would be, based on currency changes at any time prior to your trip.
- Travel Insurance: Once your booking is confirmed, we strongly recommend taking out travel insurance as it will often cover the cost of cancelled reservations.
