Scout loves

  • The location – it’s right near Main Street and a very short walk across a bridge to the town lift.
  • The heritage style of the buildings.
  • The decor is clean, simple and unfussy.
  • There are heaps of restaurants and bars right on the hotel’s doorstep.
  • The one bedroom condos ('villas') are quite large.

Scout tips

  • The rooms facing Main Street can be a bit noisy.
  • The hotel is more about convenience than it is views.
  • Guests receive one complimentary parking spot per reservation (if you’re booking a two bedroom apartment you still only receive one spot).

The Marriott’s Summit Watch seems a strange choice of name for this hotel, since none of its rooms provide views of the summits. In Scout’s opinion, ‘Marriott Downtown but Right Near the Lift’ would be a more accurate name – although we’ll concede that it doesn’t sound as impressive.

There are three Marriotts in the Park City area, but this one is in the best location for skiers who want to be close to all the action. (The location is also the reason why this one is a little bit more expensive). It’s a great place to stay if you want to be situated on Main Street in Park City with convenient access to the slopes and some good facilities, especially for families.

The furnishings are simple, clean, comfortable and inoffensive. And depending on what type of room you choose, some do offer glimpses of the slopes.

As for the condos ('villas'), they’re all generous in size, and all (including the ‘deluxe guest room’) have a kitchen area. It’s worthwhile putting in a special request for a particular type of view, as there are three to choose from (see request section) – each suiting different preferences.

Families will be happy here – the facilities include a kid’s activity room, an indoor/outdoor pool, and hot tubs. There is also a gym that’s located in the basement. Ski rental and storage is available on-site, and the lifts are only a few steps away. Thanks to the size of the rooms, a family of four could easily fit into a one bedroom condo. Plus given its location, it would be super easy to go out for meals and get to the slopes without needing any form of transport.

Who should stay here

This hotel would suit families who aren’t fussy, but who would like to stay in a convenient location while being well looked-after.
