SCOUT REVIEW

If you're looking for a friendly, convenient ski vacation in Telluride, look no further than the Hotel Columbia. With rooms and suites to suit all tastes and group sizes, this boutique ski hotel can accommodate couples, friends and families seeking a ski vacation to remember. From the moment you enter the staff will be on hand to assist you and their welcoming manner will have you settled in no time!

Boasting a fabulous classic Victorian vibe throughout the property, Hotel Columbia offers great guest rooms to suit couples, solo skiers, and small families. The standard hotel rooms are well appointed, with modern styling, with a touch of history with the original windows and framing. The Superior guest rooms are each slightly different, with some including a balcony, gas fireplace, an kitchenette. The Premium rooms offer a bit more space, with a living area to relax in and a sleeper sofa for additional guests. These rooms are certainly the ones to choose if you are booking a ski break as a celebration as it offers some rooms with their own private Jacuzzis on the deck! This is the perfect place to sit out and take in the alpine views and fresh mountain air. For families, there are also spacious one bedroom suites available, which all feature a kitchenette, sleeper sofa, fireplace, lovely bay windows, and an open living area. These are also available in Standard and Premium, and some have the option of a private hot tub. Scout particularly loves the corner units, which offer great views, and seem a bit brighter.

Views vary between each room, with those on the mountain side closest to the gondola offering slightly better views. The rooms located on the third floor have great views, as they're situated well above the street.

The Hotel Columbia provides a daily breakfast which not only includes standard continental fare, but also hand-crafted pastries and quiches, freshly-cooked eggs and a range of fresh fruit which varies daily. This will definitely set you up for a day on the slopes! When you return enjoy a drink and appetizers in the bar and if you don't want to venture into town, dine in the hotel restaurant, COSMOpolitan. The small lobby itself is rather chic, with a laid back front desk area, and styled more like a hip place to hang out rather than to check-in.

Not only are the rooms and dining facilities at Hotel Columbia top notch, but the location is excellent too. Just take a few steps across the road from the ski lockers and you'll be at the free gondola which can take you to the base of the Telluride Ski Resort in 10 minutes. For those seeking a boutique hotel option in downtown, you can't go past the Hotel Columbia for location.

The Hotel Columbia is a fantastic boutique Telluride lodging option, perfectly located downtown, close to the gondola, local restaurants and bars, and offering a chic ski vacation alternative.
