- A free shuttle from the hotel to town can be arranged by the hotel. There’s also a free shuttle bus back from town that runs every 10 minutes.
- You can store your boots and skis at the shop next to the main ski lift so you do not have to carry them everyday

One of the hidden gems of St. Anton, Der Waldhof is a newly built, family owned and operated hotel located in a quiet area in the outskirts of St. Anton. Everyone who has stayed in the Der Waldhof has nothing but praise for this charming boutique hotel that will make you feel right at home. Andrea and Michael, the owners, will make you feel like you are a part of their family. You will always find Andrea in the reception area catering to the needs of guests while Michael is back at the kitchen preparing awesome dishes. It has a small reception and lobby area with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. It is like stepping into a friend’s chalet where you can just plop into a comfortable sofa and feel like you are in your own home.
The hotel has 18 rooms which are all adorable. As soon as you open the door to your room, you will be met by the scent of pinewood which will either remind you of Christmas or a forest. The rooms are furnished with lots of wood, pinewood and splashes of red and blue colors. They’re very spacious and most have a couch. The rooms are very airy, sunny, and the balconies get great views of the area. Some of the rooms are interconnected which is great for families or group of friends. You can also choose to have the beds as a double or twins. The suite has a charming Alpine feel with lofted wooden ceilings and fantastic views of the mountains.
All rates are half-board which means you get to taste a lot of Michael’s cooking, (which fortunately Scout hears is great!) including hearty breakfasts and four course dinners.
Der Waldhof has a small wellness area which is sufficient for such a small hotel. It features an infrared cabin, steam room, a bio and a Finnish sauna with views of the Arlberg Mountains.
Who should stay here
Der Waldhof hotel is ideal for couples who do not mind being a little far from the party scene of St. Anton, and for families who don’t mind a bit of a travel to the ski slopes each day.
Location
The hotel is located in the outskirts of St. Anton in the suburb of Stadle. It is a 15-20 minute walk to town. The hotel only provides a free shuttle to the town. From the town, you can either take the public ski bus which runs every ten minutes or a taxi.
